"You eat what you are"
An exhibition that is currently exist in "Parallel" on Geary. The exhibition examines our relationship and connection with food. In every society, the search for personal identification goes through the kitchen: people define themselves through the food on their plate. The relationship with our food is very intimate and emotional. We use food to define belonging - this is especially true in immigration societies, as the search for a strong identity is tied to feelings of diaspora. Seeing your culture reflected in your food is a reminder that you have roots, that you belong. The drawings made with ink and watercolors.
